Unemployed

Apparently Events Coordinators are not immune to the economic crisis. Yesterday I was "let go" from my job. I don't think I have been more terrified than I was yesterday. Though it was incredibly hard to digest the news, I'm trying to see the blessings that will come from it. First of all, I really didn't like my job. Second of all, my boyfriend and I can finally come out of the closet. We worked together and had been keeping our relationship a secret from our coworkers. Well, that's all I have right now. I'm sure more blessings will appear once I have had more time to process.

Today I will file for unemployment, update my resume and start the job search. Though I would love to enjoy having some time off, my bank account and bills will not allow it. So if anyone knows of any job opportunities, please let me know!

Love you all!

Festival Photos

My friend was willing to share, so here are just a few to wet your appetite . . .

Basically, I love Cherry Blossoms.

How gorgeous are these?!

I love the little imperfections. They make them even more beautiful!

You can tell that I didn't take these because they are captured so beautifully. Also, I don't want to ruin the awesomeness of the tulips for those who haven't seen them yet, so that's all you are going to get. If you want to see more you will just have to go!

Flowers Make Me Happy

If you live in Utah County and haven't been to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point yet, you need to get there by Saturday. The tulips are breathtaking. I didn't take any pictures myself so I don't have any to share with you, but maybe I can convince the person I went with to share his with me. :-) Make sure you were some comfortable shoes, and if you are brave enough, roll down the giant hill. I was tempted, but I am not a fan of grass stains so I opted out.

As beautiful as the tulips were, I have to say that I received the prettiest lavender rose that I have ever seen from a special someone. And if that rose wasn't already incredible, he also gave me a dozen red roses that smell and look amazing!

Flowers make me happy.

Happy Birthday To Me!

I am officially a quarter of a century old now. I think this is going to be a good year though. My birthday was fantastic! Thursday night I left work a little early (don't worry I worked a ton of overtime so I felt justified) and headed up to Sandy to the grand opening of the Nordstrom Rack. It was divine! I bought some cute Marc Jacobs sun glasses, a super funky Besty Johnson necklace and a really cute BCBG top.

Friday I had the day off from work, so I lazed around a bit in the morning. I had lunch at Cafe Rio wih some friends, then got my haircut. It didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it, but I fixed it today. After that I headed over to Nordstrom had got a fabulous makeover at the Bare Essentials counter. The girl was amazing and I have to admit, I looked hot! Then I did a little shopping and finished getting ready to go out.

Dinner was a riot! I think there were 21 of us at CPK. Thanks to eveyone who came! I love meeting up with old friends and catching up with everyone. I have some pretty great friends!

After dinner we headed back to my apartment for red velvet cake cake and mocktails. Two of my favorite things. I definately have the greatest friends ever!

Ten Things I Have Been Up To Lately

I have been so bad about posting, but I'm not going to apologize. I've been busy trying to have a good social life and workout: two very important things in the life of a single woman in her mid twenties. I have a lot to catch up on, so here it goes:

1. I have decided that I am staying in Provo for at least another year. No move to L.A. or Santa Barbara or anywhere remotely warm. It was not the easiest decision, but I know it was the right one. I have a lot of things to take care of before I am ready to move.

2. I am flying out to see one of my favorite people in the world in May. Tony is preforming in Denver, and I am I so excited to spend some time with him. It is has been incredibly too long.

3. Work is going really well. They are keeping me extremely busy, which is good and bad I guess. It is nice to know that I am still needed during the economic crisis.

4. My sister Heidi found out that she is having a little GIRL in August. I love little girls! Her name is going to be Isabelle Jean Hovey, I think.

5. My Birthday was yesterday . . . that will be it's own post.

6. Went to the Festival of Colors last weekend.

7. My older brother came to visit for a couple days, it was great to see him and spend time with my siblings.

8. My mom, older brother and little sister are driving to Provo right now to visit for the week!! Best birthday present ever!

9. I'm still creating drama in my life. Most of you probably already know what this entails.

10. I went to Las Vegas for work last week. It was incredible. I was only there for 24 hours, but I managed to get in plenty of shopping and some pool time. I found the good H&M and bought some great items. The Marc Jacobs store was a little disappointing, but I did find some cute accessories. The weather was divine! The classes that I attended were informative and I am so glad I had the opportunity to go!

Drinking Game

I started a drinking game at work today. Every time I have the urge to eat something sweet, I take a swig of water. Let's just say that I have already had 4 glasses of water and it is only noon. Looks like I will be hitting my goal of 8 glasses of water today before I know it!
