Germany 2015 - Day 5

Sunday we took the train into Munich and headed to the BMW Museum first thing.

Before heading in we got to see the site of the Munich Olympics in the distance.

The museum was actually way more interesting than I thought it would be. It was totally worth the trip. I enjoyed learning more about the history of the company and how it all started. And all the pretty cars were pretty cool too.

There was a entire exhibit dedicated to the "Mini Story" which featured hundreds of Mini Coopers. It may have been my favorite part.

After the museum, we took the train into downtown Munich to catch the Glockenspiele. It was quite enchanting.

Unfortunately, there had been a marathon that morning and the finish and start where right in front of the building, so it was a little hard to capture the beauty of the whole building.

I was starving and really wanted a good pretzel while in Germany. This was not it. Most likely because it was Sunday and it was probably old. Don't worry, we got another one a few days later that was gigantic and the best giant pretzel I have ever eaten. Wish I had taken a picture of that one.

After the clock show,  we walked around a bit and then toured the Frauenkirchen, a beautiful church

We grabbed dinner at the train station (Turkey Doner, so yummy!) and then headed home. I definitely wish we had more time in Munich. It was a beautiful city and I would have loved to see more of it. Next time for sure!

Germany 2015 - Day 4

The day after the wedding we decided to take it a little easy. We slept in (screwing up our jet-lag for sure) and then I went for a run in the near by park. The jogging path runs along the Penikt river it is was beautiful.

Went out and bought some chocolate in the rain.

We headed out to the Adidas Outlet in the afternoon and spent way too much money, but got to take advantage of Lenette's awesome employee discount. After shopping till we dropped, Lenette took us on a tour of the Adidas Headquarters campus. It was a Saturday, so the buildings were closed, but the grounds were beautiful and we got to hangout on the field.

That evening we had dinner at the cutest German restaurant near our apartment. The portions were huge! I got the Wiener Schnitzel and Kevin got Goulash and some brats. We got apple strudel for dessert, because my German experience wouldn't have been complete without it. All the food was amazing. Quite heavy, but delicious.

Germany 2015 - Day 3

Friday was Wedding Day!! The whole reason we flew over to Germany was for Kevin's sister Lenette's wedding to her fiance Christian. The legal ceremony was at the courthouse by the apartment in the morning, so we just walked over. It was all in German of course, but I am so grateful we got to be a part of it.

After the ceremony we walked to a nearby park to eat lunch and take pictures. The area was beautiful.

Once again, my pictures are lacking. I wish I had taken a picture of the beautiful lunch spread one of Chris's sisters put together for all of  us. Europeans do lunch so much better than we do!

After pictures we headed over to the ceremony/reception venue. We had drinks and mingled while we waited for the ceremony to start.

The ceremony spot was simple and beautiful. There was a violinist and the gentleman performing the ceremony spoke in German and English so we could understand what was going on. Unfortunately the only picture I got was a poor quality image of Lenette walking down the aisle with her Dad.

Following the ceremony we greeted the couple again and then moved into the reception portion of the evening. There were great drinks, delicious food and AMAZING desserts! The cake was not only beautiful, but seriously delicious. Lots of chocolate! Germans eat the wedding cake before dinner, which is something I think Americans should pick up on. After some delicious food there was a band, more dessert, some inspiring speeches and lots and lots of dancing. We all managed to stay til 1 am, which was pretty good considering we were all still a little jet-lagged. Sorry again for my lack of good pictures; especially of everyone else who was with us. I got too caught up in the moment and forgot. Also, I forgot how to take pictures of people other than my girls. Haha.

What a special day to be a part of!
