Eleanor has an announcement . . .

We are pretty excited to be welcoming another little one into our family. We will find out the gender at the end of this month. I'm so happy to be done with the 1st trimester! It was pretty rough, but I'm feeling great now. The actual due date is October 19th, so I am just over 16 weeks now. Eleanor and the new baby will be 21 months apart, which I hope ends up being a good thing. I would love another girl since we wouldn't have to buy much, but a little boy would be wonderful too.

Eleanor loves babies, so I'm sure she will be a great big sister. I am nervous about having enough energy to spend time with her and a new baby, but I figure I will somehow manage. I am just so excited to hold a newborn again!

My Husband the Ironman

My incredible husband, Kevin, has been training for the last 6 months for the St George Ironman. In the process he lost over 70 lbs! Yesterday was the big day and I could not be more proud of him. The race consists of a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and 13.1 run. I don't think that the human body should be capable of doing that much, but Kevin managed to push through all the blood, sweat and tears to finish. I love him so much!

Kevin found a video online that has a clip of him crossing the finish line. He is at about 6:40. I still get emotional watching it. Such a great moment.

Santa Delivered

I am so late posting these, but I finally pulled the rest of our Christmas pictures off our little camera. Eleanor was obviously a very good girl this year. Santa came to Aunt Tania and Uncle Scott's house so we could celebrate with cute little Jake.

Ellie's Santa Stash

Waiting with Cousin Jake to see what Santa brought.

She was pretty excited.

So much to play with.

Pretty in her Christmas dress from Grandma and Grandpa Leonard

Eleanor's 1st Birthday

We celebrated Eleanor's 1st Birthday on Saturday with our family in Utah. It was Minnie Mouse themed, of course! The party was complete with Minnie cupcakes, Pin the Bow on Minnie, a pinata, Musical Numbers, a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse themed lunch and lots of presents. She was hesitant about the cake at first, but Kevin helped her get into it and she got nice and messy! Thanks to all those who made her day so special.

12 Months

We officially have a toddler and I couldn't imagine a cuter one! We had a great birthday party for Eleanor over the weekend, pics to come. I took her in for her 12 Month Checkup yesterday and was a little surprised by her stats:

Weight: 19 lbs 6.5 oz - 44%
Height: 27.5 in - 5%
Head: 45 cm - 52%

She only grew 1/4 of an inch in 3 months. The doctor didn't seem to be too concerned. Ellie had some growth spurts in the past, so we will just see what the next 3 months bring. It could just be genetics catching up with her. I was hoping she would get Kevin's height. Lol.

At 12 Months Eleanor:

- Loves to walk everywhere. She almost never crawls now.

- Says Dada, Baby, Kitty, Night-Night and sometimes Momma.

- Mimics us a lot. She growls when we growl, loves to tickle, initiates peekaboo, etc.

- Climbs onto my lap, which I Love!

- Points at things when she wants them.

- Puts her hands out to the side, palms up when she has a question or when we have a question as to say "I don't know". Cutest. Thing. Ever.

- Sleeps with at least 3 baby dolls in her crib.

- Climbs on, over and into just about everything.

- Flew First Class to and from Seattle for Christmas. Loved having more room. That makes 6 flights before she turned 1.

- Is all girl! She loves carrying around purses and her baby dolls.

- Has one top tooth that has broken through and the other is just a few days behind

- Is much more social with strangers.

A Year Ago . . .

Just looked at the time and started thinking about how exactly a year ago from this moment I was checking into hospital after being told by my doctor that I was going to be induced. It was probably one of the most terrifying moments of my life. Terrifying in a good way, of course. It was 12 days before my due date and I had simply gone in for a Non-Stress Test. Now I was calling my husband to tell him to come to the hospital. My what has changed in a year!

Tomorrow my little baby turns One and she is walking everywhere, babbling as she goes. I feel so lucky to have the life that I do.

Meet the Professor

Santa brought Ellie this adorable onesie and Kevin caught a pretty cute moment while we were staying at his parent's house. I think she looks like a little professor.
