Stiff Necks and High Heads

I am such a snob. I had to venture up north to a mall (which I will not name so as to not offend anyone) this afternoon to pick up some bridesmaid dresses. (I'm very excited about the dresses by the way.) As I was walking around the mall, all I could think of was, "Wow, these people are really white trash." Granted, I haven't really heard that many great things about this particular region, so maybe it's reputation proceeded it, but really that is no excuse for my judgment. I kept thinking, "Hey, I may not love the town I'm in, but at least there aren't that many white trash people there."

It wasn't until tonight that a scripture that I read a couple nights ago came to mind. You know the one, Jacob 2:13-14 . . .

because some of you have obtained more abundantly than that of your brethren ye are lifted up in the pride of your hearts, and wear stiff necks and high heads because of the costliness of your apparel, and persecute your brethren because ye suppose that ye are better than they.
And now, my brethren, do ye suppose that God justifieth you in this thing? Behold, I say unto you, Nay. But he condemneth you, and if ye persist in these things his judgments must speedily come unto you.

Consider myself condemned.

You're not the only one guilty of it! I'm sure many of us do the same thing. Thanks for the reminder that we should have charity for all people! :)
