Spark

My roommate and I were so proud of ourselves tonight. One, we actually got to hangout for the first time in weeks. Two, we went out to a swanky lounge in town and didn't even go out until after 10:00 pm. My usual bedtime. We got all dressed up and walked the few blocks to Spark. It is a restaurant/lounge that is trying to bring a little trendy to P-town. I have to say that it was pretty neat inside. I would have done a few different things to the decor, but there is this fabulous chandelier that I want for my home someday. The best part about this place is that it features a non-alcoholic bar. The drinks are limited, but I am excited to try them all. I ordered the Shirley Temple, which is a classic fav, but this one featured a ball of pink cotton candy on top. It's like this drink was made for me. It was fantastic. We also got the Creme Brulee, which was amazing.

The atmosphere was great, but the service was pretty much terrible. I think we waited more than 10 mins for our server to even approach us. There was only one bartender, so our drinks took forever as well. When we sat down we noticed that all the other tables had cloth napkins, utensils, glasses etc but ours did not. I asked the guy that brought our dessert (not our server) if we could get napkins, and he asked "What else did you order?" "Drinks." So he went and got us each a paper napkin to place our drinks on. No real napkins for us. Not to mention that he wasn't very nice about it.

After we finished our drinks, I was debating on ordering something else, but I wasn't given the option because our server brought our check without even talking to us. Then she never picked them up. We finally asked another server to pick them up for us.

I hope that my experience doesn't deter anyone else from going, because I will definitely go again. I'm hoping they were just short-staffed or everyone was just having an off night. I have a feeling things will iron our for them eventually and I hope that they stay open.

Shirley Temples and Creme Brulee are two of my absolute favorites! I even bought my own grenadine syrup to make my own Shirley Temples at home. That place sounds cool-- too bad about the service.
