U Can't Touch This Ice Ice Baby!

Last night I went to the MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice concert at the McKay Events Center. Wow!! It was out of control awesome! After standing outside int he freezing cold for 30 mins, my friend Josh and I made our way to the main floor and got pretty close to the stage. After while, things started to get pretty crowded and the concert hadn't even started yet. I kept getting stuck behind the tallest guys in the place. A fight broke out right next to us, kind of scary and kind of funny at the same time. There is just something about being confined in a tight space that just makes people go crazy!

The opening band "Love you Long Time" was way cool. It was kind of hard to concentrate on their music because I was being shoved in every direction and getting my guts squeezed out of me, but it was still pretty fun. At one point a circle was opened up in the crowd right where we were and some of the band came out and performed a song in the circle.

About an hour after the opening band performed, Vanilla finally made his appearance. This pretty much felt like the longest hour of my life. I am extremely claustrophobic, so being crushed by so many big guys around taking up all the breathable air, I panicked several times. But finally Mr. Rob Van Winkle came out and he ROCKED it! We were only about 4 people back from the stage (dead center) so the view was pretty freaking amazing! That man is H-O-T! During his performance he opened water bottles and threw them into the crowd, which was nice because we were all sweating pretty bad. I even had the pleasure of having one land inside my shirt, pouring almost the entire contents into it. I was already drenched in sweat, so what was a little more water, right? He had this crazy looking clown running around the stage throwing water at us too. I managed to get hit by 2 two more water bottles. At one point the crowd got so out of control I thought I was going to have to be one of those girls that gets carried over the front barrier by the security guard because they are about to pass out. The guard shined his flashlight on me a couple times and asked me if I was OK. I'm sure I looked terrified in there, but I wasn't about to leave until I saw Vanilla perform "Ice, Ice Baby"!

During one of the songs they let loose a bunch of confetti, it was awesome! And his performance of "Ice, Ice Baby" was by far the best. I can't believe I actually got to see Vanilla Ice perform that song live and I was standing only about 6 feet away.

After Vanilla's performance, I just couldn't take the mosh pit anymore, so Josh and I made our way to the outskirts of the crowd and to find my friend Jet. There was quite a bit of time to kill before the Hammer so we just chilled for a bit. I felt so gross since it looked like I had taken a shower with my clothes on. It was soooo good to see Jet! Oh and my phone got wet and decided to start freaking out on me, so I had to turn it off. Hope it recovers today!

When MC hammer finally came out on stage, Josh and I just hung out in the back. We were both exhausted and I couldn't stand the thought of my toes being stepped on anymore. The Hammer was fantastic! He may be old, but that man can still move! His 13-year-old son is one of his dancers and that kid was crazy good! After "To Legit, To Legit to Quit" Josh and I called it quits and went home.

Over all, it was an amazing concert. It made me feel 18 again!
