This was my movie weekend. I haven't seen a movie in a theater in a really long time, but I saw two this weekend. Friday night was James Bond. I have to admit, I really just wanted to see it because of social pressures. I like action, but I have a little problem with a lot of senseless killing. I blame it on all the articles I have read on how the media desensitizes us all. Anyway, I actually liked it, I think. I went to a really late showing and I was really tired. I nodded off several times(literally)and I think those parts must have been when they explained what was going on, because I still have no idea what the movie was really about. But that James Bond sure was hot when he was all roughed up.
Movie number two was Twilight. Yes, I have read all the books. I wasn't expecting it to me amazing, so I wasn't disappointed. I didn't think the actor playing Edward was that attractive at first, but by the end of the movie I was really attracted to him. Jacob was ugly, which made me happy. I am on Team Edward. There were actually quite a few funny parts, though I'm not sure they were intentional. Overall, I thought it was entertaining.

Dear Delta Airlines,
I tried to have faith in you, but now I have lost faith in all airlines. I spent over two hours yesterday on the phone with six different representatives and all I wanted to do is book a flight and use credit from a previous flight. Not too difficult, right? But apparently for your employees in India, it was very difficult. Don’t worry, you are still charging me more than $100 than you are supposed to, but I ran out of patience and just can’t argue with your employees any more. Maybe that is just one more of your ridiculous policies to try to suck your customers’ wallets dry. Let’s overcharge them and not have any of our employees speak English so our customers get so frustrated they just give up and pay. Good plan.
Also, why is it that every time I call and ask about a flight I am looking to book, it doesn’t exist in your system? It is there plain as day on your website. Maybe you should get them synced up or getter a better system. Just a thought.
Sincerely,
A Very Disgruntled Customer

I Am Still Here
I promise I am still alive. To quote LC in the LG commercial, "Work is so crazy right now..." ( I hope someone gets that.) I have been putting in a ton of extra hours and I am exhausted. We launched a new version of our software and we have a two day training conference next week. I don't feel prepared at all, but hopefully I will by next Thursday morning. It's a good thing that I love to plan events.
It snowed pretty nasty yesterday. Thanks, November for already being gross.
I found out that my parents are no longer coming out for Christmas, so it will be my first Christmas without them. I have plenty of family around here though, so it shouldn't be too bad. I can't believe December is next month. And seriously, Christmas songs on the radio already? No one needs to hear that.
That's all for now. I promise to post something more exciting soon.

Downward Facing Dog
I really just wanted to post today because I was at 79 posts and I really wanted it to be an even 80. I had a pretty blah Monday, though I did get to go to yoga tonight. Love it! It was actually quite intense tonight. It was the first time I had been to this particular class with the instructor, who was an older man with long silver hair. Very California, granola, yoga type guy. I actually really enjoyed him, though I had my doubts at first. I was at the front of the class, which I usually hate, but this guy walks around the whole time with his Britney mic, so it wasn't bad. Then while we were relaxing (sleeping) at the end of class, all of a sudden I feel him grab my legs and shake them out and stretch them further. Scared me to death. I'm surprised I didn't scream. Apparently he does this to everyone. I hate to admit it, but I kind of liked it.
I decided to make more of an attempt to sleep through the night tonight, so I am drinking some sleepy time tea. However, I think it is having the opposite effect on me. Let's hope the sleepiness will overcome me in the next several minutes. I have a long day tomorrow and I need my beauty rest.

Redecorating
Yesterday was pretty fantastic. The owner of the apartment that I am living in said that my roommates and I could price some things out for the apartment to make it a little more chic. So where did we go? Ikea of course! We spent three glorious hours wandering around taking pictures of stuff that we just had to have. Like this chandelier:

The picture doesn't do it justice. I'm pretty sure he won't approve it, but a girl can dream, can't she? We were mostly looking for a slipcover for our ugly but comfortable couch, kitchen and desk chairs, rugs and curtains. We are going for black, white and red. Mostly because that's what I like. Our kitchen area is already done in those colors and I have to admit, is really hot.
I also made a few (more like several) personal purchases. A new quilt, quilt cover, cute drinking classes, ice cube trays, pitcher, an apron and some storage containers. I totally want to go back and buy some Christmas decorations. They have some really cute lights.

My Thursday
Today was an interesting day. I had a lot of mixed emotions, of course, is that really a surprise coming from a girl? Work was quite stressful, and I had to bring some of it home, which makes it even worse. I feel like I am tired all the time, probably because I still can't sleep through the night. I got to see my roommates, which is rare these days, so that was nice. Then I got a call from an old friend who was in town and I got to hangout with him. We started reminiscing about old times and it got me thinking about where I am at in my life. This is definitely not where I thought I would be at 24 years old, but for the most part, I am happy and I don't think I can ask for more than that. As long as I am progressing, I think I am doing ok.
I also prayed really hard this morning for the opportunity to serve someone, and luckily he gave me ample opportunities and I took advantage of all of them, I think. Nothing cures a bad mood better than being forced to crawl out of your own selfish little bubble and think about making others happy. Here's to Friday!

Insomnia
So I have been doing some research on insomnia lately, and it is pretty interesting. For the past couple weeks I have been waking up in the middle of the night and not been able to fall back asleep. I have always thought of insomnia as being the result of a lot of stress, but I really don't feel stressed. There is a lot going on at work, but I don't think about it once I walk out the door. I decided to read up on insomnia to see if I could figure out what was wrong with me. Did you know that insomnia is 1.4 times more common in women then in men? I think it makes sense. Apparently hormone shifts are a common cause. Totally makes sense. One more fabulous symptom to look forward to each month.
The treatments sound like they all result in dependency, so I think I am going to just pray that I am able to get a decent amount of sleep soon.
